Over the weekend, police provided an update on the search and rescue mission for missing boy Aiden Blanchard.

Chicopee Police said that while the search for Aiden continues, no evidence of the boy has been found in the Connecticut river waterways where Aiden was last seen in the area of the Medina Street Boat Ramp. The area has been searched by the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and Drone unit along with boat and dive teams from the Massachusetts State Police, South Hadley Fire, Chicopee Police, and Chicopee Fire Departments.

Foul play is not suspected, police said.

On Monday Chicopee Superintendent Lynn A. Clark said that crisis counseling would be made available at the Edward J. Bellamy Middle School where Aiden is a sixth-grader as well as the Gen. John J. Stekanik School, which is where his siblings are educated, according to MassLive.

“It hits the classmates and they do worry and they do need a safe place to process it,” Clark told MassLive. “We are going to have counselors available by appointment and by Zoom.”

Chicopee Police are asking anyone with security or surveillance cameras in the Willamanset area, specifically near the Old Field Road neighborhood, to review their video from Friday, Feb. 5, between 11 a.m. and noon for signs of Aiden.

Aiden is about 5 feet tall and weighs 100 lbs. He was last seen wearing black ski pants and a red coat.

People with video that could be useful to the search or any information about Aiden’s whereabouts, are being asked to contact the Chicopee Police Department at (413) 594-1740.
